As teams change it can be hard to adjust to new dynamics. While programmers and testers need each other to succeed developing relationships can be difficult. We will discuss the how quality assurance and testing are performed by different teams and influence interactions. There will be examples of how trust metrics improve the performance of both areas, and how bridges can be built even in hostile environments.

Learning Objectives: Recall the psychological factors that influence the success of testing. Contrast the mindset of a tester and of a developer. Differentiate testing from debugging. (Discussed in session What Is QA). Understand of the code of ethics governing ISTQB professionals.

Audience:  Professionals who want their department as strong and healthy as possible. Developers who are interested in testing basics. Testers who want to further their QA knowledge
